At Growing Men our mission is to equip boys with the practical life skills they need in order to become independent, capable, and strong men who are prepared to lead their families and serve their community.
Unless otherwise noted, events are held in my home in Wedgwood in south Fort Worth, Texas.
My name is Kim, and as a mom for 18 years I've learned it takes a village to grow boys into well-rounded and equipped young men. My boys are currently teenagers with the oldest launching this year. They have had unique needs that have caused me to be very intentional in teaching them life skills. Along the journey, I've had support and input from others in our community to prepare them for adulthood. I've met many other parents that struggle with scheduling intentional time to teach their boys, so I created Growing Men to fill in the gap. I'm partnering with men and women in our community to teach boys valuable life skills.
Our events are usually designed for small groups of 6-8 boys. Unless otherwise noted, events are drop-offs with family members not attending. Please drop your child off no earlier than 5 minutes before start time and pick up on time afterwards.
The target age is 8-16 year-old boys, though we will consider boys outside the age range to meet the needs of each unique child. While I am experienced with children with mild special needs, please contact me to discuss your child's unique needs before enrolling in a class to see if we can make appropriate accommodations.
All events are led by Kim. She will always be present as the second adult whenever there is a guest teacher. During events, a child will never be alone with an adult or child.
Cell phones are allowed to be carried to events, but we will ask that boys keep volume off and set them aside in a basket so we can focus on fun, learning, and socializing. Please contact our group leader if you need to communicate with your child.
Class fees are non-refundable. If a boy is unable to attend for any reason, you are welcome to transfer your reservation to another boy that might enjoy the event. Please contact us to inform us if another child will attend in your child's place.
